    Tree DBH Explanation Diagram

    Trees Improve Air Quality
The amount of oxygen produced increases with the size and health of a tree, and larger, older trees that are in better condition produce the most oxygen.

Size of the Tree is measured in DBH
These calculations led to the city’s MillionTreesNYC program, which aimed to plant one million trees around New York (the millionth tree was planted in 2015).

Over half a million trees are loaded on our maps.

  • infoImportant Note
Hospital and income data is grouped by UFHcode(United Hospital Fund). A UHF code contains multiple zip codes in any given area a local hospital serves. Our tree data is grouped by zipcode.
